Understanding Christianity

Christianity is a monotheistic religion centered on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It is the world’s largest religion, with over two billion followers known as Christians.

What is Christianity?

Christianity teaches that Jesus is the Son of God and that through His death and resurrection, believers are offered salvation and eternal life. The Bible is the sacred text of Christianity, divided into the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Core Beliefs

  • The Trinity: God exists as three persons in one essence (Father, Son, Holy Spirit).
  • Salvation through Faith: Belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior is the path to salvation.
  • The Resurrection: Jesus rose from the dead, offering hope for eternal life.
  • The Great Commandment: Love God and love your neighbor as yourself.

Scriptures

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

The Christian Community

The Christian community spans the globe, offering fellowship, support, and guidance. Churches serve as gathering places for worship, education, and outreach to the wider community.
